Location and Directions
Fanshawe Conservation Area is located in northeast London on Clarke Road, between Fanshawe Park Road (Hwy. 22) and Huron Street. 519-451-2800
Driving directions: Take 401 to Veterans Memorial Parkway, follow Veterans Memorial Parkway North. Veterans Memorial Parkway ends at Huron Street, turn left. Follow Huron Street one block to Clarke Road, turn right. Fanshawe Conservation Area is on the right approximately 1 km.
25K single loop, 50K double loop around Fanshawe Reservoir. Terrain varies with sections of wide, pine chip trail, rugged root-y technical single-track sections. There is a small amount of cross country style grass trail and a few short paved sections joining the trail sections together. There are two low water crossings per loop — during period of drier weather most runners are able to cross without incident!
Time limit: 7 hours
Aid stations are located approximately every 5 km.
All aid stations will include water, electrolyte beverage, coke, and ginger ale. All aid station will receive a basic selection of fruit, cookies, crackers, chips and candy; additionally each aid station will include an expanded variety of sweet and savoury food choices for variation between stations.
Aid stations will not dispense any medication, electrolytes/salt tabs, or energy gels.
First Aid & Medical Support will be stationed at the Start/Finish line. Should you be require medical assistance while on course, aid station volunteers will have the contact information to bring First Aid or Emergency Medical Services to you as circumstances require.
Note to 50k runners: Aid stations will remain open for all runners maintaining the pace required to complete 50 kilometres within the 7 hour limit [approximately 8:30 min/km or 13:30 min/mi].
Aid station cut offs will be enforced from the 25 kilometre mark [half way point] and beyond.
Washroom, change room, and shower facilities on site, lots of parking.
